Winnetou meets Goldfish...

I'm slighly smitten with my new coral-esque Topshop sweater:

It taps in into the Native American feather-'n-fringes trend and has a high dose of goldfish mixed into it....

Wonderfully bright...for the cooler summer days....

My 'too cool for school'-bag

Hey, have you seen my new bag that I received in a gmarket order some time ago?

It is a dusty red shade that is neutral enough for days I do not want to scream out colour (but still want that bit of red).

It is really versatile: you can wear it in three different ways:

'Too Cool for School' bag: carry by handle or on the schoulder (Pictures courtesy of HAKO 하코)

or as a quirky backpack! (Pictures courtesy of HAKO 하코)
It is not real leather, however, it has that leather look done quite well.

I bought this from seller HAKO 하코, Item no. 195189292. (link)
This is their lovely D18 model. I really like it when the sellers work in numbers. I can figure out a bit of the Korean signs, but with numbers it is far easier :D

gmarket t-shirts...more..

Hello sassy sunday!

Yesterday I posted a sort-of-tutorial of how to order t-shirts and other apparel on gmarket. Today I want to show you some shirts that drew my attention.

First I want to say that I will be listing t-shirts of two sellers. I am not commissioned or paid for by these sellers, because they have no idea who I am and visa versa. I just thought they have cute tshirts, and I ordered from them both without any problems so far.

(the next set of tshirts are from THEDADA7)

I really like this sad little girl with the big hat. She is listed under the English name of Dropgirl, but I could not find her listed in the Korean list yet. Mmm, mayby I could ask gmarket on facebook for the right name.

The detail is so cute with the little embroidery on the sweatshirt:

Valentine's day is almost here, so I had to list a t-shirt with LOVE on it. I really like the way the model wears the t-shirt, with the black tulle skirt and the kick-behind shoes.

It is listed as: 셀프(보라) - the colour in the brackets is the navy colour.

I really like most of the colours of the DOPE tshirts, which are mostly pastels. The only thing is that it looks quite small for me

Look at the different colours...too bad about the small size:

The tshirts can be found in the shopping list under: 상품선택 : DOPE(민트)

Another happy and a bit of kawaii kind of tshirt, especially in the pink version: stars!

The pink one is listed as this (in the beginning of the list): ☆가오리(핑크)

If you are looking for confort and something really roomy for lounging and lazy days, look no further than this smiley hoody. The model looks like she is swamped by it

They only have it in grey: smile라운드(회색)

(the next set of t-shirts are from seller 나나데이)

Bunny my bunny...how kawaii. This bunny is not Miffy, but he looks adorable on the t-shirt.

The gingham ribbon detail is really cute...

I think this t-shirt has been too popular, because it is not listed anymore. Awww...

Another cute t-shirt with 'What's going on' scribbled on it:

The listing for this sky blue tshirt is: A08 베이비리본-연하늘
and for the pink one: A08)베이비리본-연핑크

Last, a tshirt that is really Spring/Summer 2010 because of the added lace.

It seems like they only have it in white: A126)소녀밑단레이스-화이트

So enjoy the rest of your day and go easy on the internet-shopping ;D

New addiction: T-shirt shopping on gmarket

Lately I have found a new addiction that can keeps me glued to the gmarket site. And no, it is not makeup this time, although I still enjoy it. I am completely fascinated with the t-shirt collections available on gmarket.

What attracts me to these tshirts is that they look really quirky and modern. Somewhat I was so ignorant to think of Asian fashion as always cute and kawaii, which is really nice, but not for every single day. The tshirts I spotted on gmarket, often from Korean brands such as TheDada, are trendy and fun without being sugary sweet.

Another thing that I find interesting is that they are relatively cheap, compared when you buy these on the Dutch highstreet or online at topshop.com or another British online store (who charge you between 25 euros ($30) or more for a trendy tshirt). Moreover, I have seen some designs I have not seen at the topshop site or at the highstreet...

On gmarket they are priced between $4.50 and $8.

How is their quality?
Well, until now I think they are of a adequate quality. Perhaps it depends on the brand of tshirt, but the one I bought has been thin enough for being a tshirt (LOL, if that makes sense) but thick enough for sturdiness. I washed it twice already, and it is still looking quite new.

I am a bit weird, because I bought a tshirt with a Dutch text on it...Why would I buy a tshirt from a Korean seller with a Dutch text on it? Honestly, Dutch language is not so hot in the country where they speak it. And assumingly, people from other countries will find it sounding 'exotic' or something...I do not know.

So, this tshirt says that it is a particular kind of paint for painting walls...

Size:

I think it is ok to say that I am bigger than the average Korean girl. Most of the shirts are sold in one size. On the Korean models the tshirts always look roomy, which translate on my body as a fit that is still loose, but fitted enough to see the shape of my curves. Again, look how the tshirts is draped around the model: if it is skintight, it will probably be a European size S. If they are draped loosely, they will be suitable for a L size.

Example of loosely fitted tshirt (which looks semi fitted on a British size 12/14, American size 10, Northern European size 40/42)

This one is not roomy at all...I do not think I would fit a tshirt like this:

How to order if you do not speak/write Korean:

I have to admit that ordering tshirts from gmarket are really complicated. The list of tshirt in one listing can be as long as 200 different kinds, in 5 different colours each!!! And now, how to pick the one you want?

One of my first techniques has been writing down the Korean characters corresponding with the Tshirt. I compare these with the long long list from choices you can make, and often I get a corresponding word.

It is an excellent way to learn a new language too, I noticed. I am already starting to recognize some Korean characters!!!

Only, the colours are often not written down. I have already accumulated a list of colours in Korean:

그레이 - grey
회색 - grey
오트밀 - oatmeal
핑크 pink
검정 - black
인디 - indigo
민트 - mint
연보라 - mauve
크림 - cream

The second thing, more easily, is to befriend gmarket on facebook (here)! You can post on their wall placing a link of the seller and the item you would like to have, and they respond quickly. For example, this was my post...

And yes, I added the tshirt to my cart for a future purchase. I am still waiting for the gmarket order I ordered a couple of days ago.

Shopping tshirts can keep you busy for quite a long time, so beware if you are addiction-prone and do not want to spend too much time staying glued behind the computer.... ;P

geeeemarket: clothes, masks and accessories

This week I was really happy to see this little fellow again...

For the people who still have not lost their gmarket-virginity...this is the little icon that is on the box of gmarket goodies.

I had not seen this fellow for ages. After a couple of orders on Gmarket, I continuously found the Custom service crediting me for taxes...grrr. However, Gmarket has too many cute goodies and fantastic Korean items to miss, so I just HAD to make another order.

My order was small, but cute (as I say myself). Although one item is not really that good qualitywise.

This feather headband was something I really liked. Ehm, actually I bought another one, at least I thought I did.
But my Korean has been incredibly limited, so I ended up with this feather headband. I probably clicked on a different code and ended up with another cute headband.

A year ago I bought a feather headband on Etsy, which I have worn at special occasions (does shopping count as a special occasion as well?).

It differs from this one, as it has different colours. So wonderful, now I have two feathery headbands...

Sometimes you get some sweet packages from fellow bloggers. Old Cow once sent me a super package, and it had a VOV Daily Fresh mask inside of it. I found out that the Volcano Ash mask is really superior for the skin. Moreover, it is non-irritating!

I could not find it on ebay, but Gmarket had it available. For this one, I typed in the right code!

Yippi, now I have 10 sessions of facial pampering with these babies... I bought these mask by seller ♪드림코스♪ over here (LOL at the music signs...sounds like music in my ear) .

I really wanted a couple of headphones that I can place on top of my ears, instead on internally. I really liked the mint green colour of ONTO headphones. However, as I said earlier...my Korean ain't top notch, so I received the pink ones...

Although they look incredibly cute and are not that huge as the normal-sized earphones, the quality is not that good. You can hear what music I hear, even when playing soft. The sound is a bit tin-like as well. OOPS!

Still, I will list the seller for information, 디지안 (here). They can still function as earwarmers, or to listen some music as home.

Ha ha, I have been writing a lot about being really happy about the latest fashion trend, which is girly/frilly/sweet. Korean fashion can be really cute and fun, so I browsed the site for some items.

I came across this petticoat-esque skirt in girly ballet pint! Yey...and it fits as well.

The only thing that worried me was the possible size. I do not consider myself to be full-figured, but I am a lot bigger than the average Korean girl. Still, it fits!

The pic on the seller's site 더꾸엔 (link over here)
This girl is wearing the skirt in such a sweet and dainty manner.

I do not think I will wear it in this sweet manner. I probably wear it with some grungy elements as well, to get a bit of sweet-meets-edgy combination.

Those were a couple of my Gmarket items. A very wonderful haul!

Ok, I did not buy that much makeup, which has to do with my 2010 detox of makeup I did before. So, am I not writing about makeup anymore? Ofcourse not...I am plotting buying some of Christian Dior's gorgeous 2010 spring collection soon! I finally found this collection over here as well!!! And it is really pretty...

Have a fantastic weekend!

New Year's Eve: the perfect party

Christmas has been celebrated! I hope everything has been wonderful!

Thus, it is time to think about the next celebration towards a new decade! 2010!!! Ready for it???

Parties have always been one of my favourite pasttimes. Even though I have not been to that many parties anymore, the idea of dressing up, socializing and dancing has always been a true event. It must have something to do with my horoscope...Leo's love to party!!!

I am sure that most of my readers have some wonderful NYE-parties to attend, or spend their time with their loved ones. I am also positive that most of you have already thought up what to wear and what makeup to put on for the celebration. Still, I would like to show you some gorgeous items I found (which is probably too late to buy for New Years Eve, but hey, they make a gorgeous set for the next party)

I love originality...and still feeling confortable. This picture looks like such a cool party outfit: the fedora is a bit masculine, and she teams it up with curly locks, a poofy striped dress, some sexy fishnet tights and some gorgeous boots...It is a cheeky and feminine way of party dressing portrayed by Misty.
So I searched a bit on etsy for some cool fedora's...Glowstoes (what's in a name) has this sophisticated variety with flapper-esque lace.

Or this one has a bright orange and red feather....

And how to stand out in a sea of Little Black Dresses?..simply wear white!

But be careful for those drunk people spilling their drinks on everybody.

Or adorn yourself in a delicate and eyecatching soft aqua colour. This hollystalder dress would look wonderful with a light complexion.

Team up with your aqua eyeshadow and accessorise with this gorgeously matching fascinator:

This is one of my favourites...a vintage flapper dress from the 20s:

flapper dress from stacyleighatelier at etsy

And I would probably team up the dress with a hairpiece such as this one from annashoub

Whatever your partyplans and your outfit will be, I hope it will be a wonderful New Year's Eve and a gorgeous new year.

fashion, ehm...I'll pass

I haven't been on the online blogging scene (love the word scene, it makes me feel so included, tá) for more than a week. Even though I have nothing interesting to say or post for the moment, I think I should make a benefit today.

It will be fashion. My blog is still not completely defined as 'beauty only' so I can do as a please...ha ha! So fashion, who or what are you? Why am I attracted to you (fashion) in one period in life, and other periods you dissapoint me so much (still fashion)?

Mmm, to disappointment...this season of the 80s and all the studded leather things going on is a bit too much for my fragile mind. I look at these padded coats and think...wow, fierce (sorry to use a Tyra-esque expression...he he). When I put them on I think...tiny Birkie with her mum's jacket on. Shoulderpads...I do not feel them. They make me look too bulky and masculine--> so, ok...maybe a tiny shoulder-enhancement.

I think a large shoulder can look stunning on petite girls, though. I found this incredible pic on outsapop, who got it from stylehunter herself. This Indonesian girl absolutely rocks the wings...(as for me...steer clear)

Another hit for the petite are the celebrating-bigbird jackets. Hear hear, Sesame street has been celebrating its 40th birthday, and Bigbird is having a moment on the fashion front. Topshop has been issueing 'bigbird in cow-disguise'

And Bigbird's raven cousin(s)

(if you like the trend...go get some more on topshop over here).

That brings me to one of the biggest trends this autumn....anything leather, studded and black--> biker-chic is back and I am already tired of it....

For example, these shoes could be lovely if the heel was soft and tiny...but this is just too stripper-esque.

For fashion-fans...it is Christopher Kane for Topshop and he wants you to be incredibly tall and possible not walking confortably enough (here).

If I would were these in public I would be offered money by lew types for indecent deeds, or be mistaken for a...to say delicately...non-female person impersonating a female...I would be just too tall for these strutting devices.

(still, I am aware lots of girls manage to wear them and actually rock them as no other...I will just say....WOW)

This studded and leather everything trend is also so overadvertised that I am longing for anything soft, fluffy, flowery, silky in sweet colours.

Such like this... Silk One Shoulder Pleat Dress

Soft - check

drapy- check

lilac colour- check

silk fabric- check

a-line shape - check

not too short/not too long- check

not too demure/not too sexy- check

affordable- check

YES, it ticks all my boxes...

I could wear this all day...were it not that I would get strange looks wearing this with 10 degrees celcius to my daily occupation...eeek!

So, what do you think of this season's fashion and how does it work with your body shape and personality? What would you like to get rid of or what would you like to bring back to the shops?

Etsy inspiration: Fall 2009 Fashionistas

Normally I browse the etsy site for cute and small things that are affordable and handy. But etsy is such a place for everybody who has a creative edge (or a good eye for vintage finds) that I could not help checking out some fashionable items as well.

Yes yes, I have been influenced by the latest heap of Glossy magazines that are chockfull of the 'IT' trends of Autumn 2009. It seems like summer has hardly started, and we are already looking at the things to wear for Autumn.

Anyway, I found some gorgeous and somewhat extravagant things that are absolutely lust-worthy.

Nostalgia's Fierce Fashion Scarf (or, a little bit of everything attached to your scarf)

I like this girl: she is normal, fierce and makes some wickedly fun creations. This scarf is everything wrapped in one, you can wear it in several different ways, and still affordable ($40).

Iheartnorwegianwood's cage skirt has been featured on various fashionista-blogs already. But it looks like so much fun! I love her Fringe necklace as well: it updates your ol' t-shirt and gives it a dash of A/W 2009 without investing too much $$ in it.

I have become slightly in love with these Tinkerbell ballet flats from spirocreations. Dainty shoes with a LAAAARGE pop of yellow colour.

They do not come that cheap ($140), but you will not be the average girl wearing Birkinstocks for sure.

attilladesign makes some awesome creations. I love her Mixed Media Indigo Blues reversible Choo Choo mad House Vest

And her Belle Epoque Bambi dress

Mmm, I found my imaginary, lust-have scarf, skirt, dress, vest, necklace and shoes...now I need the bag.

This one looks cute, original and is affordable ($55): the Dogwood Ruffle Bag from SweetgumHandbags.

And so I will dream on about cute, fashionable thingies for next Autumn/Winter 2009...only if the creditcard would be as willing as well...;D

Japanese Mag scans: Spring June 2009

Hey everyone,
First I want to thank the people who left such wonderful and supporting comments in the last post. I received the apology and the issue has been discussed and resolved.

I want to post a couple of scans of my second Japanese magazine: the Spring June 2009 issue. I bought it for this reason:

A very elegant and beautifully decorated Jill Stuart cosmetic bag that came a a GWP! Spring is not available in the Japanese bookshop in the Netherlands, but I ordered it on ebay and it really arrived so quickly. Fab!

The model in the magazine is demonstrating the bag, and you can see how the print corresponds with other Jill Stuart fashion...

I would love to get my hands on the tote she is wearing on the bottom of the page.

So I actually bought it for the GWP, but I really loved the content of the magazine as well. There has been such a couple of amazing beauty-pages included that I really want to share them with you.

The top of the page shows some easy and light application of makeup. The bottom has some prepping/priming tips for base makeup.

I love this page, especially the lipliner instructions on the bottom:

Some of the cartoon-esqe pictures are downright funny and very instructive for absolute dummies like me who do not speak any Japanese: LOL, look at that clown-mouth being shown:

This cartoon obviously shows a girl with desert-dry skin...The solution, according to the magazine, a hydrating sheet...

Eyeshadow and lipgloss tips:

More gorgeous makeup instructions:

These seem like blotting tips, or how to handle oil-shine during the day:

I really enjoyed the fashion part of the magazine as well. Spring seems to target on the twentysomething market who likes to wear Topshop, Forever 21 and H&M. At least, they featured a special page on each of these shops, and some of their fashion. I really like Topshop, I would love H&M if it was not so unoriginal (H&M makes lovely, cheap fashion, but you can find almost everybody in H&M in my country nowadays, so the novelty and originality factor is not so very high when wearing H&M). As for Forever 21, I ordered from them once, and I liked some of the items, but the shipping was ridiculously high...which 'took the cheap out of the deal'.

The magazine also has a feature of 'what is in the bag' of some fashionable girls. I always love peaking into bags of people...he he, to see what their HG items are.

The girl I put a circle around reminded me of Cheryl of Lost in Beauty:

This spread was my absolute favourite. It really has a hippy-esque, relaxed vibe. The setting is so ordinary but the model is really radiant in the car-park.

One last scan, before your computer becomes too slow of uploading all the pictures of my blog ;P

Now I want the Spring July issue as well. Makeupstash blogged about the new GWP, which is my childhood hero Snoopy on a bag...now I want.. I want.. I want....
