I have been harvesting a slight  crush on this happy print:

Description: "She's in love with music wich makes her hair polka dot colored :)"

Now I want the print, and polka dot coloured hair!

Etsy playtime

The last two weeks I have been Etsy obsessed...I think the craze started with Lotuspalace and all her haul posts... (here, she is the queen of hauls, I am just a mere subject). I bought some things that nourish the child in me...so read on.

My bunny is so funny:

I also was so enamorated with the brushroll I bought from Yumeko that I had the huge craving to buy Kawaii Japanese fabrics.

Meet My Melody bunny in its hoodie. I bought four pieces of fabric from seller beautifulwork on Etsy. I have no idea what to make of it, because I am not very handy with sewing machines.

I also bought something linked to Alice in Wonderland. On the bottom you see a piece of it. It is predominantly white, so it would be wonderful if I manage to make a cute item out of it before the party.

Hairtime:

I have a huge list of favourites listed at my Etsy account. I started to notice that the shampoo creams of GudoyanaToo were always selling like hotcakes. I read some of the reviews, and they sounded really good.

I bought some Citrus Blast shampoo, which comes like a creamy, pasty concoction. The fun thing, which is actually very helpful with cleansing the hair, is that there is salt in the shampoo. It reminds me like a Tequilla or Margarita cocktail...so sassy and decadent for the Summer spirit.

So far, I am very positive about this shampoo. I have a sensitive scalp, but the salt and fragance does not upset my hair (so far). Moreover, for a SLS-free shampoo there is tons of sudsy lather, which makes me feel so fresh.

I still have to judge if it my hair loves it on the long run. Right now I love the ritual of washing my hair with this margarita-esque concoction.

Mirror Mirror on the Wall:

I did a search for fairies and fairytale on Etsy and stumbled on pinkytoast's shop.
Her girls are so wonderful: they are both sugary cute as a bit of frightening in a murky, moody way. I love this contradiction and she made some wonderful artworks.

I might seem like a freak, but I loved this picture of a girl sitting on the toilet. I have no idea why, because I have no toilet fetish. I kind of liked of the idea of a taboo topic, the cuteness of the sugary pink colour and the Unicorn of the girl.

I received a free mushroom button...So cute and playful...I love it!

So, that was my bit of Etsy...I hope I haven't enabled you too much...;D

Cherry blossom girl...

My post is Ume-inspired...... This week I received two Ume or Japanese Cherry blossom related items: one was included in a sasa order, and one from Etsy.
I stumbled upon this purple ume wallet when I was browsing wallets with japanese prints on etsy. I really love the cuteness of the Sanrio inspired wallets, and ordered some small Sanrio inspired prints as well.

For my more mature-appropriated days I was looking for something lovely and florally: this wallet fitted the bill (pun intended). I bought it at THIENTHANH in the sale section, and there was also a free shipping deal...he he.

This is such a cute and well-made wallet. Have you seen the little fishy that holds the zipper?

So sweet: she (Bibi) makes the wallet with her grandma...

It also arrived really fast! I really enjoy fast shipping...

The only small con is that it is a bit small for my daily shopping, and all of these pesky card you have to use - for the library, the bookstore, discount at the supermarket, etc etc.. I think it will make an excellent wallet for international currency...e.g. pound sterling, or dollars (hopefully soon ;D).

My other happy Cherry blossom item came from sasa.com..... It is from Bison.

This is also a cute and small size. Think about 3 times smaller than the Pear shaped lipbalm of B&C. It also has really similar texture as the B&C Pear balm, which I absolutely AdOrE...It smells like a slightly artificial cherry, or a bit like cherry flavored lemonade. I really like this scent...

The colour is incredibly cute as well....a soft baby pink which sheers out on your lips...

I made a swatch on my arm. The upper part is the balm concentrated, and I sheered it out to the bottom. One reviewer on Sasa described it to be slightly lightening on her lips, which is true. However, it is still a lipbalm and nothing too pigmented...

I still smell a hint of cherry after half an hour, but nothing obtrusive (and the regular readers know I am really picky with some scented products).

This theme makes me dream about a Japanese vacation walking under real Cherry tree blossoms....

artsy fartsy day

Yesterday I went to another museum, which had an exhibition on 'Love! Art! Passion!' and dealt with the art of artistic couples. I know this blog is more for makeup and fashion, but I found some of the paintings to be so marvelous and vivid with colours, that I wanted to share them.

Hey, you might get some new inspiration for makeup or a fashion-look. At least, I went to a shop afterwards and was really drawn to the bright and happy colours, LOL

This painting is the one I wrote my artwork article about! It is a joint project from Paula Moderson-Becker and her husband Otto Moderson....It looks so happy with all the dancing people around the lovers in the moonlight. (Title: Love-Life in Nature)

One of the more famous artists, Auguste Rodin. This is the Eternal Spring. He was influenced by his girlfriend Camille Claudel, and her art by him as well.

Eternal spring, that is such a hopeful and romantic title to depict the feeling of being in love...sight!

Alexej von Jalensky and Marianne von Werefkin were another painter-couple. She was a couple of years his senior, and came from a wealthier family. Here is a bit of biography on the couple (click for a better view)

I love this painting from Alexej, that has such vivid colours and the eyes are so startling....
This is another one from Alexej, Girl with the Peonies. I love the red and pinkish tones and the demure look of the girl.

This is the painting from Marianne, Alexej's partner. It is called Atmosfera tragica or tragic atmosphere, and I can see the desolation in the picture. It is quite stricking.

The last couple that impressed me a lot were the paintings of Wassilly Kandinsky and Gabriëlle Munter. Kadinsky has more of an abstract feel of painting ...

Wassily Kandinsky, Painting with white shape, 1913

I can see the similarities in painting style with his girlfriend's painting, however, she tends to reflect a more modernist style.

That was art-class today, dear students (LOL).
Next time it will be swatch-time again, as I was the happy receiver of the Maquillage Face Creator in 11 yesterday (but I still have to make good pictures).
