Burberry haul incl. Beauty Glow

"Once upon a time there was a makeup-fan who liked to look like a natural beauty...
[insert story-line/plot/obstruction/handsome Prince...]
She went to the Burberry counter again".

Ok, so my storyline of the modern damsel needs some more tweeking and perhaps you guys can give me some suggestions of
  1. what the handsome prince should look like
  2. how long the Cinderella-effect of the makeup will be
  3. If she will get free Burberry makeup for life?
But I can still talk about that beautiful GWP I got...

Official Haul: my 1st Burberry lipgloss, Blush & thát GWP
I kind of have been ranting about the cheapskate anthics of the makeup counter SA's lately. The Guerlain lipstick retailed officially for a whopping €30 and I got nothing (not mentioning the store *Cough -IciParis *)  and another one gave me a Estee Lauder moisturizer. Nice, but most of my readers know my skin needs something more than Estee to feel content.

this is what we call a GWP
But this SA is a true gem, and gave me a gem-like box as well:

Officially I had to purchase over 75 but she gave me the choice of this or a mini-lipstick at 60 ♥♥♥. I already got the mini 04 Cameo Pink and gave it away for being too light on me, so this one was totally tickling all my cosmetic senses.

  • rosy colour!
  • Hybrid!
  • sophisticated packaging
  • tiny/travel size packaging
  • thát box
  • Burberry
  • reaaally hard-to-get
This is actually the colour I like having for a blush. I talked in my Summer Faves about reaching for the generic Corals (corally pinks) when in summer. However,  in Autumn/Winter/(Spring) I prefer to look like a healthier version of me instead of having sweet Barbie cheeks: hence, the Rosy pinks come in again!

I always want to keep the virgin state of my newest makeup items the longest as possible, so I really suffered while making this swatch for you readers (*be thankful*): Ok, I actually have an excuse to use it now because I swatched it ;D

I will recap on it when I have used it some more, but for the moment:
  • semi-hybrid: perhaps more suitable for lips than cheeks but still good for cheeks. Somewhat like Julie Hewitt Cheekies.
  • Glossy (see swatch)
  • Neutral to cool pinky Rose (hurray)
  • matches lipgloss in Blush 04 (also see swatch)
  • Cinderella effect? I will report back later on how long it lasts

Pearls from Jamilla and CalicoGarden's loveliness

I have an important milestone coming up:

Tomorrow is my 1st year anniversary of the blog!

I will write about that point tomorrow, because I will have to organise a GRANDE giveaway, ofcourse...beauty-bloggers tradition!

First, dear Jamilla from makeupforprofessionalasianwomen.com had a fantastic sale of her great products. I bought the Guerlain Meteorites Mythic from her, and I had it waiting for me when I came back from the hols...

Isn't the box gorgeous? It matches my flowery blouse I put under it as the background.

Pearls Mythic...indeed.

Lovely pearls from the UK. I think I am not white enough for it right now, but in the winter I often fade away a bit, so the pearls could be brilliant to give my skin a bit of sparkle (it makes a wonderful body powder for clubbing as well, however, I do not go clubbing as much as I would like to).

I also had this Kose Fasio palette waiting for me when I came home. Purples, again...The cooler variety...

The next package was so exquisitely packed, so delicate and so beautiful! I bought a hair goodie from CalicoGarden at etsy.com.

I love her banner as well...its texts attracted me instantly.

"For all kind spirits, goddesses and bellydancers".

Ok, I do not consider myself to be a goddess nor a bellydancer, although I could work on the bellydancer part, but I hope to be a kind spirit. So I love the spirituality of the shop. And look how much love she put in the packaging, the card, the handwriting, the making of the hairclip: it's exquisite!

This card is so cute

wow, I love handwritten notes...it beats emails or mobile texting everytime

Zippers are big in fashion this fall, and I am a bit creative, but not as creative as I would like to be. So I support the economy (LOL, that is my excuse for buying cute things) and bought this supercute zipper-flower from CalicoGarden.

I adore accessories: it is such a fab way to spark up any blah or humdrum or basic outfit and lift it up to something more original.

See you tomorrow and have a splendid rest of the weekend!

Fantastically Finnish...

One and a half week ago I stumbled upon a shop with some fantastic home-deco items. I am not that much interested in homely stuff, but I was absolutely mesmerized by this cutest Marimekko toiletbag in lilac and purple colours.

It was not the cheapest makeupbag ever, as Etsy often has cheaper items. However, I think Marimekko is such a fab label and I am enjoying the flowering motives. Plus, the 30% discount was really luring me into buying it.

Marimekko is a Finnish label, so that is a part of the title.
I also received a suprise parcel from Finland as well. I was wondering if I had ordered something, but awwww...it was a genuine gift from Aileen from Amorevintage.

Awww, that has been such a sweet gesture.

The lipbalm is really lovely for moisturizing, while it is not too obtrusively overscented.

And I think her choice of stationary is absolutely brilliant. Marie Antoinette is such a iconic and contested figure (and beautiful too).

I hope that all my readers will have a brilliant sunday and a wonderful week.

My gorgeous new colours, and Jamilla's generosity!

  • I haven't been buying that much eyeshadows from Japanese Brands for a while. I haven't been buying much eyeshadows at all in the last couple of months. That was because I had a large collection shades at home, and lately, I could not wear eyeshadow because of sensitivity problems with my eyes.

However, my eyelids have improved and I was so happy to see some gorgeous new Autumnal collections popping up at my favourite Japanese makeup pusher-sites.

Let me present to you my new, beloved boxes:

  • Kanebo KATE Diamond Cut Eyes PU-1: a gorgeous palette with lilac and purple shades.
  • Shiseido Maquillage Alexander Wang BR 365: taupes and browns
  • Kanebo KATE Reflect Mirror Eyes GY-1: greys and taupes.

I also bought the supergorgeous Jill Stuart Blush Fresh Apricot 06 from Jamilla Camel.

Jamilla is such and inspiring and fantastic blogger who always has the best features in her blog.

Let's not forget her generosity....wowza. She was soooo sweet of sending me all of this:

A Mac eyeshadow in expensive pink, an eyeshadow pencil in brown and a Paul & Joe pencil in purple. Some decadent skincare sample from KenzoKi, sheet masks and other goodies.

Thank you Jamilla Camel, *HUGS*
My sweetest readers ♥ ♥, I will post some swatches of my newest colour next week (probably at the end of the week) so you will have an idea of how the colours would look like in real life.

In the land of the spoiled...

Now I have been the procastinating blogger: I haven't blogged for a full week. Ok ok, I was in Liverpool for a couple of days, and celebrated my birthday afterwards...But I could of have blogged a bit in the weekend. Oh well...

I received my second Illamasqua haul. I ordered it the 23th of July and received it exactly a week later. Nice...I ordered the medium pencil in Exert and Obscene, nail polis in Hectic, Powder Eye Shadow in Fatal, 4-Colour Lip Palette in Test, Scandal, Brink, Tramp. Also the sheer Lipgloss in Enchant and the powder foundation in PF210.

Shiny and sleek black boxes....

Those pencils are Exert (steely grey) and Obscene.

The sheer lipgloss in Enchant

Nail polish in Hectic: I love the moody, murky colour of Hectic...It will be a wonderful colour for fall!

The lip palette in Test, Scandal, Brink, Tramp (not in the right order). Mmm, I have been testing these, but I am not that enthousiastic....they are definitely MATTE. I am probably too spoiled with smooth and dewy Japanese lipsticks to appreciate these fully. The colours are wonderful, though.

I also made my second order at Unearthed, which is an Etsy store that specialised on cuffs with special skins (animal skins). My first order from them had been in 2007. I went to visit their shop again, and fell in love with this bright, pink fishskin cuff....how original and summery.

There is nothing fishy about this cuff (except that it is made from fishskin), he he.

Hello my pink fishy!!

Everything arrived meticulously packed and in a beautiful shape.
My last act of self-spoiling was...buying some products from Betsy's blogshop (Autumnmasquerade.blogspot.com).

I bought three eyepencils, one mac and two of Giorgio Armani. Sweet Betsy included a pencil sharpener ánd a gorgeous, glowy Armani eyeshadow as well!!!

Ohhh, I like all of those pencils. ♥ ♥ ♥ THANK YOU BETSY!!!!!! ♥ ♥ ♥

Continuing the pencil-mania: I also picked up the September edition of the InStyle Uk edition: it came with 2 free Body Shop pencils in black and another colour. I picked the Silver grey colour, but you could also pick the teal or purple.

I do not buy InStyle that often, because it is often crammed with Celeb-mania. I prefer beauty-mania and fashion-mania over the celeb-obsessed. However, the content of InStyle Uk september is pretty good as well: they have some wonderful previews of Autumn fashion and some refreshing beauty tips...
Do the Japanese magazines publish lots of previews of autumn during this period (mid summer) as well? I should visit my Japanese bookstore soon to find out myself ;P
Alright, a healthy dose of self-spoiling! My reviews on the Illamasqua will be posted this week. I also want to review the Jill Stuart Lip jelly in 15 as well, but I am not sure it that will be this week.

buying birkie....

Hauling makes me happy every now and then...buying from bloggers I know (a bit, though) makes me extra glad.....

So, when I came home last saturday I had a bunch of packages waiting for me...it is the ultimate "happy return" welcome, I believe ;D.
I was pretty quick in ordering the Jill Stuart summer 2009 palette from Kathi (lotuspalacesales) which will probably has irritated some potential buyers. Sorry for you, but I was so selfish to pick it up! I haven't been buying eyeshadows for ages, and after seeing some swatches of JS summer 2009 I was really happy to snap it up for a good price.

Gorgeous, stunning muted colours. I think the palette of colours is not specifically screaming SUMMER, but that makes it very suitable for me.

I also included my very first Sonia Rykiel palette! This palette is very summery indeed! Gorgeous colours that remind me of diving in tropical seas....mmmm

For the people who have been following Kathi's superpopular blog (and I guess most people who read my blog are certainly reading hers) are already aware that she has been buying a fantastic variety of cute stationary, deco tape, memo letters, etc. And yes, my envelope was already a gorgeous present, decorated with cute tape and kawaii stickers...

The cutest stationary: this letter is printed on both sides: I think it is Malaysian or Indonesian language?

The cat that cooks the best dinners!!!

Sweet Kathi also included two scented Miffy pens. They really smell like candy when you write with them.

Even more, she has been so incredibly generous! You know what she did: she included this FABULOUS RMK eyeshadow in 04 Silver Blue Beige as an extra. Those hearts are toooooo adorable ♥ ♥

I cannot wait to try and swatch all of the eyeshadows....
How do you like her new businesscard? It has the same, kawaii logo as her blog.

She also suprised me with some facial treats....my new passion: sheet masks....

This is bathsalt from Tabinoyado and it is absolutely amazing!!! It turns the water into a deep pink colour and smells like delicate flowers mixed with cherries. I absolutely need more of this.

Kathi, you have been so generous and really sweet to send me all of this:
Thank you soooo much!

I also snapped up another gorgeous necklace from amorevintage. I became mesmerized with another creation of Aileen.

Ohhh, my favourite Finnish jewelly maker included some matching earrings as well (as an extra)...awww, they are really dainty and pretty.
Everything came in the cutest packaging: the letter is so lovely with the roses, and the pink box makes everything look like a real treat!

I loved the polka dot envelope.

Some fantastic samples she included...

Wow, I love my new necklace and I cannot wait to let it decorate my neck.
Thank you, my dearest Aileen!

British treats!

Hello everybody,

I have been absent of the blogosphere for a couple of days, as I was in Manchester for business. I took a break from the computer for a while...he he.

British pride and influence.
This has been my first purchase from Theme Fragance on etsy.com. I adore this scent! It is a strong and realistic smelling pink grapefruit with a dollop of sugar, which makes it incredibly fresh for the summer. I guess most of you have read 'research' of grapefruit scent being able to make men estimate you 10 years younger...he he.

I also received my second order this saturday, so I will be blogging about that soon.

My darling Yasumi has been suprising me like a maniac again. I love this girl...and her self-depreciating humor is ace.

Look at his beauty she sent me...an 'attempt'? I think it is a masterpiece. If I had just a pinch of her creativity I would set up my own, very succesful etsy store. I think she is already working on that concept, so watch her personal blog and her creative store.

Very yummy Beautycredit masks that are always a good source for beautifying the skin..."Hello Youth, I am still there!"

So wonderful...Thank you Yasumi....
Have a wonderful sunday and a happy beginning of the week!

London Love...

Holy Cow, My favourite Londoner wuffs me a tiny little bit! The delightful Yasumi, or by herself nicknamed Old Cow, has been suprising me with some blush-love, lipgloss-passion and mask-marvels!

Those awesome cases with the ultra-cute rocking horses are from the Korean Brand Beautycredit. I have already seen some rave reviews of their products, but haven't been able to dive into Beautycredit myself.

Yasumi has a sixth sense for knowing what her blogger friends want...really! She was so fantastic to send me their cult-blush in PK02 Peach Girl and a ultra-summery lipgloss 03 or Peach.

Such sexay summer colours...I have such a thing for everything coral when the summer arrives. I used to deep-sea dive as a hobby, and have been such a lucky b&#% to being able to dive in the Caribbean as well. I always love being reminded of real coral and sealife nature.

The close-up of my latest blush. Look at the cute rocking horse...awww.

I had to swatch it for you. And wow, it looks like everything I wanted from Nars Orgasm. It is glowy, but not glittery. It has the right amount of warm and cool tones. It is a perfect peach for me.

Yasumi, you rock even more than the rockin' horse of Beautycredit! Thank you sooooo much...
