KAPWOOWW....I need a new starting line for my blog...so I picked KAPWOOWW!
Thursday again! and a lovely thursday it is: I received my Topshop order today, which I will not show in this post yet.
What I can show you is my bead-box! he he! I haven't been crafting and beading for five years now, so the beads are quite old (are they antique yet?). I picked up a bit of beading on the day after Eastern, which was a free holiday in mi leeetle country...I did not want to venture outside as everybody and their pets venture outside, so I went for an attempt of creativity...
Hey, once upon a time I organised my beads into different colour sections...what has happened to my orderness?
More beads: I kind of have to laugh about the neon-yellow cord, as 5 years ago neon was returning into the scene, and I was still hip enough to wear neon (ha ha, so I thought I was).
A cosmetic shop had 20% on their cosmetics...tahaa! Dior was calling me: I picked a colour I have been lusting over since 1998: Dior Ultra Gloss addict in 157. It is a gorgeous corally nude with green microshimmer. I love green microshimmer in lipsticks: somehow they plum up my skinny lips...
In natural daylight: It looks like a completely different gloss, but you can see some of the microshimmers...
I finally dared to swatched my precious Shiseido Integrate palette I received a while ago. Although the colours are so lovely and earthy, I espected them to be a bit more green instead of brownish.
The only colour that is a bit greenish is the darkest one on the right, oh, and the second one in the middle, but that one is too glittery. If you prefer a greener palette I would suggest looking at the Kanebo Kate Deep Trap eyes in GN 1 (here)
They are still lovely: the bronzy brown is luscious, and the darkish green is very useful for a alternative smoky eye.
Oh, and I am lusting over this product:
The bronzer on the left is the object of my affection (Goddess 001)! It is from Paul & Joe's Summer collection Gold. Beauty Anonymous has spotted it already on Beautyhabit, but I once mailed to beautyhabit for international shipping, and they were only able to ship by DHL, which would have costed me $54 for shipping alone...
So I have to wait patiently for gooddealer or ichibankao to release them....
Happy Eastern, again! I was up early and I had not much to do, so my blog needed some updates. Did you eat lots of chocolate eggs yet?
I wanted to dedicate this post to the cheap and wonderful products I aquired since my last cherryculture haul. My first cheap suprise was the LA lip palette. I was enabled by Jojoba to buy the LA lip palette, which turned out to be pretty smashing! Jojoba already posted the best swatches of one of the palettes, Eternity, check it out on her blog (here).
I also bought Passion, which turned out to be a passionate palette of warm and cool colours. Actually, the mix of warm and cool colours is a bit confusing, as palettes normally are ór cool, ór warm, or neutral. I found Eternity to be neutral/cool, and very workeable for me. This palette is suitable for summer months, when I am sporting a (fakish) tan.
I made swatches and photographed them in full sunlight. The first three colours are really warm, actually they are truely Jamilla Camel colours, as I see her sporting lots of warmer colours (and looking good in them). And the last two are really cool toned berries.
A picture outside the sun. Feel free to click on the picture to enhance the view.
I was pretty gobsmacked by the softness of the lipsticks, they are really moisturizing and soft on the lips. They stayed on for a rather long time.
My favourite palette of the two is still Eternity, but I love this for mixing and for wearing in the summer months. For the $8 they are retailed you will get a set of 6 colours that are fun to experiment with, to step outside the box of your usual colour scheme.
Talking about cheap but effective: I bought the Amuse blush palette in Natural for a mere $3, and with the discount that was even a cheaper $2.40. In total, that would be $0.60 per blush colour! I did not expected miracles or even decent pigmentation from this palette, however, it is rather decent after all.
The first two colours on the left are actually the bottom colours: sorry for the confusion. The 3rd and 4rd colours are the upper colours. The pigmentation is really dense, and you can pick up lots of colour from a simple swipe with the fingers or brush. I was pleasantly suprised by this, as I expected a hard surface.
The first two colours (or the bottom from the palette) are neutral toned and a bit rosy. I love the first one, that is such a me-colour, so stunning. The second is wonderful as well. The third colour is a warm brick-like colour, which was not too flattering on me. However, I love the amount of shimmer and dimension in every blush, not too glittery nor to flat or matte.
The swatches in direct sunlight. The fourth colour is a bit peachy and works with my skintone as well. Isn't that lovely: three winners in a palette! What a deal, what a steal!
The only downside of this palette is the cheap case, and the blushes have a slight old-lady-ish scent. Nothing obtrusive, though.
It makes me curious for the other Amuse cheek palettes as well: they have a set named Pinky and one named Dusty Rose. I could not see the colours too well on cherryculture's webpage. However, I guess the colours are suited to their names, although the lower colours on the left look like bronzer types. Mmm, I will put them on my wishlist for my next order.
After a day of contemplation and some rest I think it is time to post something positive. So I said to myself: "stop the sulking and get back to business". Thank you to all the sweet bloggers who gave me a soft pat on the back....♥ ♥ ♥ ♥♥ ...
I saw a couple of children's chocolate eggs in the Hello Kitty form: They are so cute and they contain small Hello Kitty Dolls inside: I have four of the tiny Hello Kitty dolls now...
He he, how childish of me. The chocolate is really good of those eggs...
I received glowchaser's gorgeous creation today! It arrived in a sweet tin and in the cutest foil, that was decorated with strawberry stickers. She has added a professional touch by printing a thank you letter, with jewellery care tips, on writing paper that is decorated in the layout of her webpage worship@thehouseofblues .
I already posted her picture of the birdies, but here is my version....soooo pretty and delicate!
Her latest designs are flying out of the shop (my birds did, LOL), so be fast with ordering if you are interested!
From Adambeauty I bought a second one of the Kose Happy Bathday hand emulsion. I finally finished my first version I bought in Autumn 2008, and I needed a new one.
I also ordered a Shiseido Integrate Accent eyes palette in the green version: GR760. (Oh come on, how could I just order the hand serum alone)
I haven't swatched them yet, but I love the mix of brown and green colours...very earthy and beautiful:
The instructions on the back are included, as often with Japanese eyeshadows....
That were the wonderful items that flew (sorry for the bird-pun) in my mailbox today. I love all the items I received as they are original and wonderful. I will post swatches of the Integrate palette in the near future, but I am not sure when yet.
Let me wish everybody who reads my blog a wonderful Eastern Weekend in advance! I hope your weekend will be filled with bliss and positivity! ♥Birkster♥
Lordy lord...I have been on a accessory binge lately...It started with buying something from the INCREDIBLY talented and loveable glowchaser, who is spreading her genius of creation by selling her artistic items on Worship At The House of Blues...check out her blog and her beautiful handmade jewellery:
I bought the Birds in Bloom Necklace: I am stalking my mailbox until it arrives. Ain't they romantic? I have been called bird-girl often, as people found me a bit...ehm...fluttery (LOL). But now I have found my nest....
(actually, I was called butterfly as well: same theme, same restlessness...also beautiful animals, so I am flattered)
Ok, I haven't bought anything of the next items yet, but I am totally smitten by these Locher's items...but they are so darn expensive. I wonder if glowchaser can make something similar (as she does custum orders as well)
Those are from the shop I blogged about ages ago (here). What about the smoking-lovers? You can have your own sigarette necklace on the go....
LOL, they are having a sale on this t-shirt as well...Ehm, I kind of feel the words... he he~!
Ahhh, I have been limiting my cosmetic buys lately, and my addiction just shifts to another thing...(but ain't the items cute?)
I have been absent from the blogosphere for a couple of days... I found my own post to be a bit unspirational and I was (still am) completely swamped with several projects from Uni. Moreover, I was so stressed for an interview for a Master study programm I had today that I could not think in bloggy terms of pretty, stylish items...
After the interview I went to my mailbox and found some lovely items that I bought from Cherryculture.com. I ordered from them a week or two ago, when they had a rocking discount of 20% off. Ofcourse, the gorgeous Jojoba enabled me to buy the L.A Girl palette. Check out her excellent review over here.
I ordered Eternity!
And Passion! I wanted to have Fall in Love as well, but that one has been sold out for a couple of weeks (and still is sold out)
I would not be Birkie-the-Blush-addict if I was going to miss the opportunity to buy something blush-like. I am sure I could supply the total of British Footballer's wife of all British Soccer clubs from a year supply of blush, but hey...I am the addict and constantly on the lookout for another blush. And it is nice to know that, when I am 80 years old, I can still use the blush I bought when I was young...
I bought the Amuse Cheek Palette that retails for a mere $3. Discounted, that would be $2.20...Ha, I pay more for a coffee on the road...Such a steal!
I bought the colour Natural....The colours look natural and pretty in the pan...swatches will probably be posted in the weekend, as I still have a hectic week to finish....
A girl can never have too much lipglosses, so I threw NYX girl round lipgloss in RLG 34 Real Nude and RLG 22 Natural, and a Amuse Chocolate lipgloss (the other one was a GWP). The NYX girl lipgloss retails for $2 and the Amuse chocolatty yummy lipgloss is $1
Ahhh, I was such a nail polish addict a couple of years ago. I have loads of polishes and love them to bits. I could not resist the temptation to order a couple of Sinful polishes. Don't you love the name, Sinful? They retail for $2...I had to pay the standard $10 for shipping, so something substantial had to go in the box...LOL.
The full monty of swatches will probably be posted this weekend, as I am still swamped with essays and exams. I also have to keep my fingers crosses if I will be admitted to the study programm.
Pfff, so let me conclude with these cheery singing kids about how tough life can be...(Jay Z "hard knock life"). Wasn't this song produced before the millenium (1998 or 1999)? What were you doing then? (I was a clubbing dolly and a bit of a rebel, now I am the tedious housewife and student...)
Banilla Co. is going Glam, with a palette in the Secret Glam, that is. Banilla's cosmetic makers must have tons of secrets, as the word Secret is being used in lots of Banilla Co. baked powders....perhaps it is the secret to beauty...who knows?
I was happy to receive this secret Glam Palette. I was lusting over this palette since I saw it on Lotuspalace in December, and 3 months later it is mine, really mine...muhahaha!
I think this palette is a part of the Winter line of Banilla Co., as the spring edition has been focussed on the Gossip Girl theme. The colours are suitable for winter and autumn indeed, as they consist of bronzy, autumny, blackish and white colours...Still, I love those colours all year around and I am sure I will rock these shades in Spring as well.
The box is pretty, a matte black with silvery letters...
I already described the colours. They are both taylored for winter and autumn, don't you think?
Wow, these eyeshadows are PIGMENTED! Especially the darker hues. I made two pictures that show the dimension of the colours...I hope I captured them well. Otherwise, you can also see Kathi on Lotuspalace's swatches, which are really vivid as well.
I also bought this palette from the same seller as I bought the other Banilla products: khs005492 for 22,000 won.
So, I would like to wish everyone a wonderful weekend. Be happy and do not shop too much (LOL)!
