Wishlist for 2013

Beauty-blog related wishlist I have for 2013:

1. Good Micro Lens for the Nikon DSLR

I'm not that happy with the micro-function of my camera right now...I hope a specified lens will help me to get the focus I used to get with my oldie Canon from 2009.

2. Fabulous Hair (better hair would do)

I actually didn't like most pictures when I googled "beautiful hair". But when I googled "fabulous hair" I found these two examples that would made my day if I had such trichomanian quality. Or, at least some better hair...I'm working on it.

3. Finding my Holy Grail Foundation

 I have plenty, however, I haven't gotten one close to HG status. I gotten the Creme de La Mer tested on me lately and loved the colour, but will I splurge on that one again?

Curious for: Cire Trudon Candles

The hype is there...

Niche factor is there too, as they are being sold on Net-a-Porter and Liberty...

and ofcourse this deliciously luxe store in NYC

And there is the promise of scent that basically says it will wisk you away to more adventurous places (in the comfort of your home)...or like they say it...

Then again, spending about 60 euro on something I haven't sniffed in real life yet is something else than the (becoming a bit generic) Diptique candles I can sniff in real life, or the Neom that-I-cannot-sniff, but only sets me back $18 if I don't fancy them.

However, I found a shop in Holland that seems to sell them (here) so I might bring my sniffer to that place soon.

Any readers tried or sniffed their candles in real life?

Pursued and a cheeky wait

After I haven't dared to put any makeup in the Miu Miu purse I bought a while ago in case I would smudge it's daintiness, I decided to buy something more playproof:

And if my lack of swatches and review has left you slightly dissapointed in me, I have some cheekies somewhere between Hong Kong and the Netherlands that are waiting eagerly to be swatched:

Goodie: I have quite some blush, mostly powder and some cream.

However, I have little in gel-form, only the Pixi and a Rouge Bunny Rouge from the Decadent Duo side (Tango-Argentino). I love these consistencies so I get three of them at the same time!

For a song that has been sung by the original band (Soft Cell) and later dubbed by more dubious bands like Marilyn Manson and the Pussycat Dolls, their only similarity probably being into heavy black eyeliner, I have to tell you Tom Ford got me tantalised by this

YES, a HYBRID Cheek/lip product

 (and it's called Tainted Love..)

Now I know I had to fork out plenty of coins to get a lipstick from him, being the beautiful Violet Fatale...I know this one is the same price-range, plus I have to get it from Harrods so the shipping will be beautifully expensive as wel.

Thus...has anyone seen some swatches of this one online?

So I basically want this for the

• Name
• Hybridity cheek/lip
• curiosity 

 But it looks like a deep red: I am not quite certain this would be the most flattering colour for my cheeks on my lighter complexion. And if I'd only wear it like a red lipstick?...mmm, I already have too much...

I'm basically going to hesitate for a while until I see (or get links from my sweet commenters) on good online swatches!

Kose Addiction Autumn 2012

Kose Addiction will be releasing some new additions in their single eyeshadows for their Desert Fall range

And, quite new, they added a couple of Kohl Eyeliners in powder (eyeshadow) form as well.

I found some swatches over here , La Mournia, Sheltering Sky and Mustard Tree: the Kohl Eyeliner powder duos can be found lower on the page
And here are the colours White Pepper, Sand Dune & Morrocan Rose.

There will also be two nailpolishes that builds upon the Desert Rose theme.

I kinda like the yellow Tumeric colour: it's dusky enough not to be considered perky summer but still quite bright for autumn. The orangy red Le Mépris might be that perfect orangy red but I have to see it swatched first.

I'd normally would jump up and down for anything blush related, but these blush-mixes might have too much bronzer/orangy tones going on, although Brown Toast seems to have a pinkier left side.

Obviously, she's a model and for a face/cosmetic related high profile brand so she must be gorgeous. However, I love the fact that she can transform from standard beautiful to glamourously gorgeous with the right smokey eyes.

I welcome the return of the bold eye , because, honestly, with my skinnier lips the bold-lip trend of the last couple of years was not always my most to-go-for area.

Based on the swatches and the gorgeousness of the darkened purple based in the promotion picture I think I am coveting over the Eyekohl Mix Duo in Night Dive the most.

Summer Makeup wishlist

1. Jill Stuart Fig Tart blush from the Summer Patisserie Collection

First spotted by reading Rougedeluxe's blog. I love this one because it is a lot brighter and more reddish/pink than the usual collection of blush that Jill Stuart has. And as a food lover, I am smitten by the name :-)

I have seen it online but I still haven't ordered it yet. Probably because this one isn't cheap and I am not too certain about the people selling it.

2. Kose Addiction Lady of the Lake eyeliner pencils (or the lacquer)

I think it was the challenge that Yumeko from Bittenbefore gave other beautybloggers to show their collection in colour schemes. Some of the bloggers had trouble finding enough whites but I actually love white eyeliners, and saw that the Lady of the Lake collection has an awesome white pencil called Moonwalk:

Now I know Kose Addiction doesn't come cheap but they often excel in what they do in makeup.

I like the eyelacquers too, but I  am not really into high-makeup when going into the water (pool or sea) but a good pencil often gives out some definition or extra zest to the eyes.

Any specific makeup items you have been eyeing up?

Cosmetically related: beauty-ful cases

Lately I have been toting around my cosmetics in the side pocket of my bag. It actually makes little sense to have a beautiful set of cosmetic products for on the road and decide to randomly tug them in the side pocket. So I am eyeing up a couple of beauty-ful cases to give my beauty-lovelies a better way of travelling

Wishlist Collection Spring 2012, part 2

1. Shiseido Maquilage Spring 2012 True Rouge lipsticks

Maquillage released a new selection of eyepalettes too, but my true love in this brand is the delicious way they make lipsticks. I am always stunned about the way they make the perfect MLBB mauvy rose colours that I keep on coming back to (even after having the Diors, Burberry's, a Suqqu, the Lavshucas, the Kanabo Kate's, and ehm...lotsa more).
And the curiosity factor: I am not sure how this formula will be like, so I want to try this one for 'research', he he.

The only gripe is that they do not come cheap (oh, and the packaging) but they are absolutely worth it. RS749 looks like my signature colour but I am lemming something more pink or corally this time, so I think the PK 315 will satisfy my rosy pink needs and the featured BE748 looks like the perfect nudy coral.

2. Anna Sui Rose Cheek Colour:

There are cosmetics I don't need and cosmetics I don't really need at all. Blush is the latter category... And then, ahhhh....they are the cutest shaped ones and the colours.... Swatches can be found over here... 

3. is 3....Three

It's already a really expensive mystery brand to me and this collection looks like something I could totally wear. Uhm, I hardly resemble the model but I have sort of reddish hair (thank you Christophe Robin) and similar skin eyecolour and this looks like something I could wear and flatter me.

But to take the plunge on a mystery brand that is difficult to google (not so handy of the brand) for swatches and is rather expensive for a lucky gamble I think I will wait a bit longer. However, I like her eyeshadow a lot, so I hope I will find some more links, sometimes googling in the brand's language & product names helps...(eg. I found some product pictures over here)

5 new things I would like to have...

Writing a beauty blog means that I try more cosmetic products than the average person around. There is just something about the lure of a product that has HG potential (holy grail), even though you are perfectly satisfied with the things you already have.

Although I can be lured easily in buying something that I fancy, I still have certain wishlists around for things that look quite interesting, but are

1. quite expensive or are financially not the best thing to do
2. unneccesary (most of my buys are unnecessary, so that excuse does not really work, although some products are even less necessary than others).
3. require difficult strategies to order 
4. am not certain about if my skin would tolerate/like, or if it would flatter me...etc.
5. have a waiting list...
6. has gotten mixed reviews
7. are from a brand I haven't had any success with in the past...

Still, they are interesting enough to remain on my wishlist.

1. Kose Addiction Autumn 2010 blush in Gorgeous

Yes Factor:
I have had good experiences with Kose Addiction before (posts here). And after seeing the online colour picture of Gorgeous, I think I am smitten: it is that certain mauve/rosy colour that could suit my complexion perfectly.

I am also enticed by the blush in Good Girl. Oh lord, I think I want all the eyeshadows as well! For the Lady Gaga lovers there is even a colour named Bad Romance in a shockingly matte purple. Still, I think I would skip the Bad Romance and go for the smoky Twig.

And this time I am not too critical over the promotion picture. The collection is London-themed, so it actually makes a bit of sense they put a rock-chick kind of girl on the promo picture. Although, one of my favourite bloggers, old cow from worshipblues, is a Londoner as well and she would make an awesome rock-chic too. And it makes sense, fashion bloggers are having a larger say in the collections of the grande fashion house and get bags named after them, so why not putting our favourite beauty bloggers as the faces of cosmetic products?

No or maybe factor:
Price: This blush is Expensive with a capital E. And what if there are chunky glitters in it, or the colour is not what I expected it to be. Oh, and don't I already have a thousand of these colours yet?

2. Tigi Catwalk Sleek Mystique Straight Collection.

yes factor:
I have straight hair. So depending on my need I want to pretend it is either curly or wavy, or even get that extra-straight look that was fashionable a couple a years ago (straightening irons, anyone?). It would be blissfull to create that poker-straight look that girl is sporting on the promo-picture without those damaging thongs...

no or maybe factor:
Gosh, how many hair products can a girl have? I need to finish at least one product in order to excuse myself from making another hair-product purchase. And which product to take? All of them? And what if it is a craptastic product again?

3. Edward Bess eyeshadows (or actually the whole line)

Yes factor:
One of the more Niche brands that has been popping up at the beauty blogosphere lately. The eyeshadows are available in six neutral colours, that I like. The swatches online look fantastic and covet-worthy.I have read that they are extremely suitable for the ladies that aren't in their twenties anymore, so a flattering eyeshadow is something covet-worth

no or maybe factor:
 The price. The lack of colours and the dupe-ability of the colours. I am also afraid they will not show up on my eyes. It's perhaps a bit too niche for me. Or worse, I might love it so much that I want to buy the whole collection, something my wallet would not really recommend.

4. Madara tinted Moisturizer

Yes Factor:
You can see it on the promo-picture: it has that whole meadow-type of wholesome-ness. I actually want to be that natural-looking girl with her flawless skin and dance in the summery meadow with her probably perfectly handsome and flawless boyfriend.

And the ingredients:
 Baltic St.John's-wort, plantain, chamomile, algae and rose water, as well as cocoa and jojoba.
 Wow, St. John's worth is a natural form of prozac, so I might even get chirpy by wearing the moisturizer!

It gets even worse: this blogger is so enthousiastic about the tinted moisturizer that it is almost impossible to resist. And darn, the reviewer is a model as well, so she must get offered or made up by lot of products so she must know something about all types of foundations and tinted moisturizers.

No or maybe factor:
Price, ofcourse. And something I mentioned before in previous posts: I think the review I mentioned before is absolutely fantastic, but honestly, that girl would look good with her face covered in the cheapest and most unflattering makeup ever. They would even make such a look trendy when she is wearing it. I like to know if it looks good on real girls with flaws (which makes it a yes factor again, to buy it in order to find out/review for the blog).

5.  Burberry Cape trench jacket.

Yes Factor:
Capes...getting in touch with my superheroine side that must be somewhere. And Burberry, what is the epithome of style by owning a Burberry jacket. It is also Fashionable with a capital F.

No or maybe factor:
This jacket has DREAM ON written on it. I won't even mention the p-word again...it is the ultimate expensive item that I cave, and so impossibly obtainable that I placed it on the end of my wishlist. I might mention my blog birkinbagbeauty, but I haven't even got a midge of Jane Birkin's financial means or the wardrobe she probably has acquired over the years...
He he, a girl can dream, can't she?
