Autumn nails: what's new?
But somewhat easier, how to accessorise my nails?

I went to Vogue Fr. and they showed some returns of the classics: (link)
- Red nails- quite big during Fall. No extras with nailart-caviar, etc...just classic reds.
- Khaki, blacks and taupes: ah great, not that much investments.
I couldn't resist, even though I probably have a dupe. I love the reference to the film with Kim Novak building up the tension in true Alfred Hitchcock style. Will his films ever date?
As I said, there is not that much nail-art featured. Somehow I was surprised about that, because I have seen a lot of Military clothing in the shops. I personally wouldn't like to dress up like someone who has to defend the country against possible enemies, but I thought it would be fab for nails and so I googled and found this blogger doing this tutorial: CrazeGlaze
Wow, supercool: I brought up my other murky greens that I can pair op with my latest Chanel Vertigo:
left: Brazilian brand Ludurana in L001, Essence 68 High Spirits, Illamasqua Hectic, Creative Nail Design in 340 Okey Dokey Artichokie
Swatches in similar order: Ludurana in L001, Essence 68 High Spirits, Illamasqua Hectic, Creative Nail Design in 340 Okey Dokey Artichokie.
In general, I think that Illamasqua Hectic will qualify as the most military based. It will look awesome on it's own but I really want to try to do my nails in somewhat similar way as Crazeglaze.

Bold inspiration
It is just that I normally stick to the trusted UK ones, because for the language that I can understand.
Sometimes I step outside my magazine comfort zone, for...simply the superficial reason of the cover that promises me...inspiration!
Vogue Italia...the dramaqueen of all Vogues in the Fashion department...but their beauty edition is quite bold as well:
But it is not only theatre-esque makeup. This makeup on the eyes, for example, is something that I would not consider myself, but it looks quite stunning on green/hazel eyes. Oh, and the eyeliner is perfect!
I like the rest of the look, although I would not think of matching an orange lipstick with peach eyeshadow...
But then again...it is good to step outside of your confort zone. After all, it is just make-up and you can wash/take it off at the end of the day!
So yeh, I might try that look (although I'll skip the curls...I had my crimping days in the 80s, LOL)
One of the more classic looks is this one:

In the land of the spoiled...
I received my second Illamasqua haul. I ordered it the 23th of July and received it exactly a week later. Nice...I ordered the medium pencil in Exert and Obscene, nail polis in Hectic, Powder Eye Shadow in Fatal, 4-Colour Lip Palette in Test, Scandal, Brink, Tramp. Also the sheer Lipgloss in Enchant and the powder foundation in PF210.
Shiny and sleek black boxes....
Those pencils are Exert (steely grey) and Obscene.
The sheer lipgloss in Enchant

Nail polish in Hectic: I love the moody, murky colour of Hectic...It will be a wonderful colour for fall!

I bought three eyepencils, one mac and two of Giorgio Armani. Sweet Betsy included a pencil sharpener ánd a gorgeous, glowy Armani eyeshadow as well!!!

Japanese Mag scans: Spring June 2009
First I want to thank the people who left such wonderful and supporting comments in the last post. I received the apology and the issue has been discussed and resolved.
I want to post a couple of scans of my second Japanese magazine: the Spring June 2009 issue. I bought it for this reason:
A very elegant and beautifully decorated Jill Stuart cosmetic bag that came a a GWP! Spring is not available in the Japanese bookshop in the Netherlands, but I ordered it on ebay and it really arrived so quickly. Fab!
The model in the magazine is demonstrating the bag, and you can see how the print corresponds with other Jill Stuart fashion...
I would love to get my hands on the tote she is wearing on the bottom of the page.
So I actually bought it for the GWP, but I really loved the content of the magazine as well. There has been such a couple of amazing beauty-pages included that I really want to share them with you.
The top of the page shows some easy and light application of makeup. The bottom has some prepping/priming tips for base makeup.
I love this page, especially the lipliner instructions on the bottom:
Some of the cartoon-esqe pictures are downright funny and very instructive for absolute dummies like me who do not speak any Japanese: LOL, look at that clown-mouth being shown:

This cartoon obviously shows a girl with desert-dry skin...The solution, according to the magazine, a hydrating sheet...

Eyeshadow and lipgloss tips:

More gorgeous makeup instructions:

I really enjoyed the fashion part of the magazine as well. Spring seems to target on the twentysomething market who likes to wear Topshop, Forever 21 and H&M. At least, they featured a special page on each of these shops, and some of their fashion. I really like Topshop, I would love H&M if it was not so unoriginal (H&M makes lovely, cheap fashion, but you can find almost everybody in H&M in my country nowadays, so the novelty and originality factor is not so very high when wearing H&M). As for Forever 21, I ordered from them once, and I liked some of the items, but the shipping was ridiculously high...which 'took the cheap out of the deal'.
The girl I put a circle around reminded me of Cheryl of Lost in Beauty:

This spread was my absolute favourite. It really has a hippy-esque, relaxed vibe. The setting is so ordinary but the model is really radiant in the car-park.
One last scan, before your computer becomes too slow of uploading all the pictures of my blog ;P

My first Japanese Magazine...
The great thing is, that I found a Japanese bookstore that sells some incredible selection of magazines. The owner is so nice to order the ones that they do not retail, for example, they offered to order Spring if I wanted to.
My very first Japanese magazine I bought was based on the GWP I received: the Baila.
I found myself to be a bit daft when I realised that the magazine has to be read from the other side than Western magazines...he he, I am not a regular Japanese reader.
As I said earlier, I cannot read a word of Japanese, but the beauty instructions are really wonderful: they have a special for applying blush and highlighter...the girl has PERFECT skin.

A bronze special with Chanel Makeup:
The clothes are really mature: I always connect Japanese women and magazines with the girly cuteness (kawaii), however, I love the matureness of Baila. I already found some wonderful inspiration for new combos and outfits.
Beige clothes-special on clothes: very work-appropriate
I LOVE this dress, and love the curly look of the model. The ethnic print and bow on the dress is so cute.
I am already looking forward going back for the July selection of magazines. Makeupstash posted the upcoming GWP with the magazines! I really aiming to buy the Smart issue that has this Stussy duffle bag with it:

Or the Mina makeupbag that Rougedeluxe already bagged (here)
