Glamour:

 

 Michael Kors as a brand stands for Uptown New York glamour so its makeup is on par with the fashion aura of the brand. A white packaging and golden letters, and inside a golden grande compact that could easily been mistaken as a small palette.

Size: 

I was secretly thinking 'how American' to have the blush/bronzer being supersized to this generous compact. My British Burberry is laying on top (still in dominating mode, who said size matters?) but the idea is clear.

All of this gotten me slightly cynic about its performance. I loved the latest launches of Fashionbrands going makeup (waves to Burberry and a nod to uncle Ford) but Michael Kors has never really appealed to my clothing aesthetic. And then the grandeur of it all.

 Thus: colour, performance & velvety texture:

Flush was my colour of choice after hearing it being described as a sister of NARS Deep Throat. Honestly, they are more distant cousins but I liked the few swatches online enough to indulge.

I picked up some other bl-onzers (blush/bronzers) that could have been siblings:

I omitted Bobbi Brown Antigua (too pink) & Maquillage (too much mixing) from the next swatches. I also mixed the 2 shimmery shades of the Le Metier de Beaute Kaleidoscope & the two topshades of NARS Soulshine.

Swatch winter-daylight (3 pm)

 

 At first glance:

•  No twins out there.
• Banila Co Copacabana is the closest match, only slightly paler & a bit more mauve
• Michael Kors has the most delightful & complicated shimmer of them all
• NARS Soulshine & Le Metier de Beaute have a pinkish hue when mixed
• Sofina Aube & Armani Sheer bronzer 2 are reddish compared to MK
• NARS Soulshine & Le Metier de Beaute are quite similar when mixing them in the right amount.

And now for the shimmer time: *FLASH*:

• my blush-crush is totally justified: look at the delicacy of the glow of Michael Kors...is it cool? Is it warm? Not sure, but it is gloooowy
• Le Metier de Beaute Kaleidoscope also flashes up in a complicated glowiness
• Banila Co. Copacabana has been a favourite for a long time, and for a good reason
• I sure love bl-onzers a lot!

Conclusion: Can you justify a crush? Yes, I just did...

Using, Used, Gonna Use

I'm such a chatty blogger but I will keep this round of "using, used, gonna use" concise.

1. Using: Sofina Primavista Smooth Base Coat primer in Yellow:
I've talked about my Rudolph (red nose) syndrom yesterday. This primer doesn't just make pores appear much smaller, but the yellow cancels out most of the redness too.
I've bought it a while ago and revisited it recently...and my nose thanks me for it

2. Used:  Christophe Robin Creme Lavante/ Cleansing Cream with Citron
I once got a GWP of this and I liked it enough to repurchase in large. Anyway, sometimes it happens that you like the sample but feel *meh* about the full-size: that happened (but I still emptied it because it's still good).  It works as a no-poo sort of cleansing conditioner (see what the no-poo method is over here, trust me, nothing to do with the toilet). I started to get *meh* about the scent which reminded me of Cif cleansing lemon scent. And, I am not really a no-poo person: I love to shampoo my slightly-greasy roots with foamies...sorry for that.

3. Gonna Use: La Prairie Cellular Treatment powder Foundation
 I finished up my Poor Burberry and hope to be much gentler for this luxury babe...

Peachy, princessy pout with Sofina Aube Couture lipstick in BE 703

Happy monday...everybody. I noticed that the blogosphere has been more quiet lately. LOL, I am glad to notice that lots of my favourite beauty bloggers have a real life and are probably enjoying their summer moments.

I find my title to be a bit arrogant...forgive me, my dears! I am not thát happy with my mouth, but I have been happy about my latest lipstick discovery from the Sofina Aube Couture Designing Rouge summer 2009 edition. It is lustrous, pigmented and I love this particular colour in BE 703.

BE is synonym, in Japanese cosmetics, with a beige tone. But sometimes you will receive a different kind of beige, which can be more nude, natural, or in this case peachy.

Ok, time to show of the form and shape of the lipstick case. You will get a pinkish silver case with Aube Couture written down in white, sleek letters.

In this picture my gorgeous lipstick was still unharmed and undamaged. But, in the interest of blogging, swatching and making good pictures, I actually balanced my lipstick on a small mirror in order to make a good picture....

And boohoo, my Aube fell and got damaged (left lipstick). The lipstick on the right, btw, is the Lavshuca Dramatic Memory rouge in PK-3. I thought the two lipstick compared colourwise, however, they are still different in colour.

They differ in colour, as I said, but they also differ a LOT in texture. The Lavshuca Dramatic Memory Rouge in PK-03 is almost dry and looks a bit pastlike on my mouth, whereas the Aube Couture is full of lustre and moisture.

Eeek, I decided to post a swatch on my lips as well. The lipstick almost makes my lips seem normal, which is a huge plus for me.

Most Japanese lipsticks are scentless, and so is this lipstick.

I bought my lipstick for $25.99 on facial-shop.com (including shipping) which was the cheapest option I could find at that time. I received my item by recommended mail (signed) within a week. It is also for sale at gooddealer.com for $27.82 (minus shipping).
