little bit of Gmarket

I had a little Gmarket haul:
I went for the Lovely Faceline Set from Lotree.
Lotree is one of my favourite Korean cosmetic brands. I still enjoy one of their face powders the most when being on the road (listed here as a summer-favourite). Even more than my latest La Prairie compact foundation.

The set contains a primer/foundation compact, a blush that turned out to be a bronzer (initially the wrong colour but I adore it as a shader/bronzer), a lip/cheek tint in orange, a blue/black eyepencil & an eyelash growth serum.

I will test & swatch some of them and will keep you updated -**-

Using... Used... Gonna Use

One of my beauty resolutions is actually using up things...it's going all right.

I will start off with the Using category:
  • Using: Sunday Riley Good Genes treatment
Marketed as both a serum for 5 days a week or as a mask which has some potent Lactic Acid for that bit of exfoliating

Right now I find it a bit strong (read: stingy) for my delicate skin. I think I will alternate it and use it as a mask.

Talking about masks?
  • Used: Glamglow mud mask (sample)
Although I love my sheetmasks, I really like the deep cleansing effect I will get from a mudmask. I have tried a variety from BeautyDIY Glacier Ice mudmask to Fango's various types, and I especially love them in summer when I pile up the sunscreen.

Glamglow has been marketed as the "Hollywood Mask" and the name already suggest "Glamour".

I really liked using this...as you can see from that picture above, it's that mudmasky green colour that would make Kermit envious. Also, it has some grains in it that become effective when you rinse off the mask in scrubbing motions.

Is it more fabulous than my other mudmasks? Not really, but I already have a really good stash. The Borghese Mudmasks each target a different aim, eg whitening or cleansing and are really effective for each cause. The Beauty DIY Glacier Mud is also so gorgeous as you only need a thin layer and it dries so fast. Moreover, Glacier Mud has a variety of minerals that really have an effect on the skin, besides the wonderful cleansing effect.
in the Clay department: Borgese & BeautyDIY
Still, I like it and it gets a 2-in-one action by cleansing(tingling) and scrubbing.
  • Gonna Use: My gmarket diary

Wow, I purchased this one 1 1/2 year ago when I still was quite attached to Gmarket. I ordered a couple of their agendas then (eg this Alice in Wonderland) and forgot about this one untill I found it again.

Most of Gmarket (Korean) agendas do not have fixed dates but only days of the week, so you can start and finish your agenda whenever you want.

Moreover, don't you think the "Plans of the Week" are cute? I am going to schedule in "Falling in Love" & "Beautiful Travel" soon.

Gmarket haul 9 (continued)

I have been bragging in my last post for ordering the upteenth Gmarket haul, but it hasn't been that bad. Especially for someone who is slightly addicted to ordering cute things ♥

I hadn't been ordering from them a while but I heard that Etude House was getting generous again with the freebies.

Their latest lipstick release Dear My Blooming Lips-Talk in RD 304

I was actually convinced by the cutest commercial ever. I'll show you that one when I will review the lipstick and show swatches.
(Itemno: 247073448 -spoiler: it's bríght!)

Shower time with Milk Talk in Choco Milk: Etude has lots of talk for us in their latest releases
(Itemno: 242533019 )

A new sheet-mask: I picked Royal Jelly:
(itemno: 225961729)

Blusher! The Dear My Blooming Cheeks in OR 202
(itemno: 247997635)

How generous were the samples after this haul?

Ehm Yeh, I haven't been really overwhelmed.

I expected the smaller box to have a BB cream but it was another box of cotton pads. false advertisement? Anyway, at least I have enough cotton pads for the time being.

The smaller eyemakeup remover looks handy. I will be testing that one out soon: one eye with Lancome Bifacil and the other eye with Etude House Lip & Eye.

Such a lovely haul with new items I'm quite curious about: I will be reviewing the makeup items soon!

G-Market Haul twenty-something?

I always browse the sites that Korean auctionsite Gmarket puts up as the winners of the month. They often have a title that says: my 1st Gmarket haul, or Gmarket haul no 7.

I honestly lost count because I already had multiple hauls and didn't really count them, so that explains my title.
box no ? from gmarket

They absolutely make some sturdy boxes: my boyfriend loves them for storing purposes. That alone makes it worthwile to order from Gmarket ;P

the goodies
Ugh, sorry to be such a tease but I haven't gotten time to edit all pictures.

Maaaaybe tonight or tomorrow!

Gmarket continued:

Last saturday I posted a teaser post of my gmarket haul.

I actually do not like to put up teaser posts, but I have seen myself being interested when they were posted on other blogs, so that is why I thought I would post one myself. But, I am such an un-teaser-like person ;D

I was happy to see the postman with the gmarket haul this week. The only thing is that the darn Customs in my country seem to think I have to pay taxes. This is quite weird, because I always import for just $110, which is about 80 euros. I thought that was within the limits of free importation?

Still, it is worth for Gmarket. For other hauls such as skinstore.com I would skip ordering from them, because you can get similar products from the UK or other places in Europe for a similar (bit more expensive) price these days, which makes it still cheaper after tax and you will receive it earlier as well.
But g-market is still worth it, although I would prefer it not to be opened by Customs and taxed, because, COME ON, 80 euros for own personal pleasure! Why the taxes?

What did I get???

You already saw a glimpse of a snail in my saturday post. Here is the dinky littl' fellow:

That snail was attached to a leaf:

Which is actually a pen I received as a freebie from It's Skin:

I bought their most famous Vitamine C serum. I thought my skin could use a Vitamine C regime again.

I used to be quite serious about Vitamine C serums a couple of years ago, but when my skin got more sensitive my priorities swifted from anti-ageing/brightening to making my skin more tolerable.

So, I hope my skin is up to this serum and I hope it brightens and has a bit of a youthening effect...

Bought this one here, or, from 잇츠스킨 로, itemnr. 201166335 for ₩9,800 ($ 9.35). It is the VC one which is the 7th one in the row.

In my Happy Eastern post you also saw a kind of bunny ring:

So, how did I get interested in the bunny ring?

Gmarket has a monthy list of bloggers who are set in the spotlight. Which is a good thing for them as well, because they will receive a free coupon for shopping.

I have been lucky twice with a juicy coupon for ₩ 50.000 (approx. $40). I don't think they will reward me anymore because I already had it twice. (but you never know...*winks*)

I digress...So these post benefit Gmarket a lot, because there were lots of girls that proudly posted pictures of their new Bunny ring. They provided a link (there are more bunny-ring sellers and several type of bunnies, just browse the gmarket monthy winners and you will find tons of info and links to bunny rings)

Yep, I ordered a bunny ring as well in the largest size: 17! You know, it is too big for my ring finger! I never expected that because I already am not dainty for European standards, so I must be the big ol' giant for Korean standards.

The ring is perfect for my right hand, though, and it is funky without being too immature. It actually is hard to see that it is a bunny ring until you show your hands from a different angle. From the top you will see just a white, pointy thing.

I bought mine here from핑크퍼니걸 itemno 185617755  and ring 15 Rabbit Tie Ring mono.

I got this as a freebie:

Like the hair-thingies but the lollypop was blah...(threw it away)

But they have plenty of rabbits that are more sparkly or larger so yeh...you might check them out.

I also bought my first Holika Holika item:

I have been inspired by MissElan-nio a lot, who has been blogging about Holika Holika frequently.

And after I made my first order I saw Lotuspalace , Musings of a Muse and Worshipofblues posting something about them as well.

I did not know I jumped on the bandwagon until I saw their posts!

I only bought one thing...the Aqua Petit Jelly BB cream:

I like that they gave freebies only with purchasing a single purchase. I got three of their Honey Sleeping pack samples:

I bought it here....

Back to clothes:

I also bought a skirt in Midi size in whimsical tulle fabric:

I wanted the grey one instead of a girly colour, because I believe that the fabric is already feminine enough.

And with the neutral grey colour, I can wear it a bit tough as well: a bit Black swan or biker ballerina!

This skirt is from [올리비아 or Olivia, itemno. 193328854 and subchoice 타입 : Gray빈티지레이스sk-블랙(크림안감). (link)

Last, but not least...some decoration and protection for my Iphone:

I love the whimsical 'girl meets bird' theme:

They gave me this too:

I bought 'girl meets bird' over here, itemno. 194384173, subchoice 이미지젤리[lovely girl].

So, it was a rather spring-like haul that put a spring in my step :D

Gmarket pre- eastern bunny

This week I've got yet another Gmarket package.

I love opening Gmarket boxes...

This time the box was actually not too large compared to the content. Yeh, they still waist a lot of space, but hey, the boxes for shipping have become smaller...

So, will this be a teaser post or not?

Actually it is a teaser post...But just a glimpse of what I got...

Taking the snail-way for this Eastern Holidays

Soon, more about my gmarket haul...

G-market haul, again

Meet the box in the forest!

No, our post office is not among the leprechauns and forest bunnies...Still, that would be funny, especially when I do not have to pay additional taxes (sight)

First, I purchases two blushers from an unknown brand called Diana. Actually, they are from Prorance, who is somewhat known in the Korean cosmetic branch.

I bought them for pure curiosity and the need to add a zillionth blush to my collection...make that two:

These two were under $10. They are not that pigmented, but I like the beige one for highlighting.

Where to find:
I found these here or http://english.gmarket.co.kr/challenge/neo_goods/goods.asp?goodscode=173208738. The pink one is colour no. 2 and the Beige one is no. 3.

Clothes time: I wanted to have a lighter sweater for the transition towards spring. I saw this sweater modelled over here:

Cute, a sweater-dress!

I only wanted another colour, so I went for a mintgreen (what else?) and cream colour:

The sweater looks good in real life. Quality-wise, it is not top quality but still quite ok. It is roomy enough for my Western bone-structure, LOL.

I only find it to be a bit less vivid in colour than I expected it to be...

Where to find:
http://english.gmarket.co.kr/challenge/neo_goods/goods.asp?goodscode=192648537 or link here

Just pick sweater 선택 : 로망스더블톤니트 and colour option 진베이지민트 (₩10,000)-

The original price is ₩7,900 ($ 7.24) but for most of the articles they charge an extra. Still, an original sweater for appoximately $17 is still a good deal.

Last, but not least...a cute purple bag to tote around...

So wonderful, they have these on sale for $5.91! And no extra fees for this particular number.

Look how it looks on the promotion pictures

And it looks pretty much the same in real life! Bonus!

No, it is not real leather, but it is a well-made faux version.

Where to find:
http://english.gmarket.co.kr/challenge/neo_goods/goods.asp?goodscode=172603594 or here

This is no. 222 and they have made it a bit easier for the non-Korean readers, so they put the colours in English at the end!

Such a wonderful haul.

No wonder I like gmarket: cheap, you can find original stuff, vivid promotion pictures, and they often deliver quite fast.

My 'too cool for school'-bag

Hey, have you seen my new bag that I received in a gmarket order some time ago?

It is a dusty red shade that is neutral enough for days I do not want to scream out colour (but still want that bit of red).

It is really versatile: you can wear it in three different ways:

'Too Cool for School' bag: carry by handle or on the schoulder (Pictures courtesy of HAKO 하코)

or as a quirky backpack! (Pictures courtesy of HAKO 하코)
It is not real leather, however, it has that leather look done quite well.

I bought this from seller HAKO 하코, Item no. 195189292. (link)
This is their lovely D18 model. I really like it when the sellers work in numbers. I can figure out a bit of the Korean signs, but with numbers it is far easier :D

Rollin' in 2011

Oh dear, I have been of the radar for quite a while.

The activity of writing about beauty thingies was not really appealing to me and I found myself in a writing rut: I wanted to write about more than just a reviews on beauty products!

Now I kind of realise that I have the honour to have some fantastic followers that might be interested in the things I have to say. I might be the umpteenth fish in the pond that writes about beauty products, but some of my followers might even be interested in the things I have to say. That is wonderful!

I have been toning down my online shopping habit. I reached the point that I did not take pleasure ordering new things, but that I had to shop online for the sake of...?...So, I will not blog that oftenly about the lastest fad in the beauty world, but I will still write a bit about the tried-and tested things that make life a bit more glamourous and stylish...

If you haven't noticed, most of the Europeans have been in the midst of winter...

Summer shoe meets winter snow
Yeh, I am all about denial of cooler temperatures and snow that was around during this Christmas, so I let my summery shoe touch the snow in order to make that contrast of ideas (my idea of wanting it to be summer and nature's idea of giving us a wintery time).

Temperatures have been mellowing up in the meantime. Still, I am not completely in denial and have been buying one of the latest fashion fad-dy items: the Norwegian print!

Norwegian Print legging from gmarket
I am still loyal to Korean all-you-can-buy site Gmarket, so these pink and grey-tone leggings are bought from gmarket (link) but they are not available over there anymore.

Honestly, they are a bit too small for me...I have those 'big bones'-legs (or just a tad chubby) and they are made for dainty Korean women. However, I could fit in them which made me happy in a way that only a girl can be happy when she is able to fit into a size she thought she would be too big for...:D

I have spotted another great print on gmarket: the mosaic leggings!

Gmarket Mosaic print leggings
I wish they came in a larger size, because I think these colour blocks are wonderfully placed on the leg. I think they have a semi-slimming effect, which my legs need...

And what about these...flashtastic! Especially the gold ones

Gmarket flashy leggings

These look fantastic if you have the skinny-legs gene! So I would happily skip these for myself and order them for one of my friends who has skinny legs.

Ok, I might look all right in the black ones...

(Both are from item no. 170672489 (link)

I still like my makeup! Only I have not been buying them in bulks anymore.

The only thing I could not pass up after reading lots of raves, was the Lunasol Xmas 2010 set!

I love all of the beauty products in that set. The mascara is so natural but still holds my carefully placed curl I put in with my eyelash curler! The highlighter is fantastically beautiful, but most I like the eyeshadow palette!

Lunasol Xmas 2010 set: the eyeshadow quad
Apart from the glittery middle colour, these shades are a neutral colour girls dream...

The thing I love most about Lunasol eyeshadows is that they look semi-natural, but still make the eyes look more beautiful. I compared this one with one of my neutral Dior palettes, and I noticed that Dior leaves that eyeshadowy/pigmented look whereas Lunasol gives the eyes a defined glow.

My last gmarket purchase has been this check blouse I have been seeing a lot lately.

Quite retro, and I love the colour composition of mustard and browns.

These are item no. 191486147  (link) and  they are out of stock as well.

This seller has some similar designs (here). Mind that I have no experience with this seller, but it has high ratings so I suggest it would be ok to order from them.

I really love this one: it is so feminine in its pastel colours!

Whimsical version of check blouse

It is the 타이밍블라/연두믹스 one from the same seller.

So, what have you been buying lately and what is your 2011 wishlist item you would love to see in your closet or makeup drawer/purse?
